Shubuta is a small Mississippi town in Clarke County along the Chickasawhay River. Highway 45 runs north-south through town, connecting to Meridian 30 miles north and Mobile 90 miles southeast. State Highway 18 provides the main east-west route. The area features rolling pine forests with hot summers and mild winters. The town's historic 1930s concrete arch bridge on Highway 45 stands as a notable remnant of early 20th-century engineering.
