Shubert is a tiny farming town of about 200 people in southeastern Nebraska's Richardson County, just north of Kansas. Highway 73 runs through town, connecting to Falls City 8 miles north and US 75 for routes to Omaha (90 miles) or Kansas City. Most traffic is local agricultural and commuter vehicles. The town's working grain elevator serves as a landmark visible across the surrounding corn and soybean fields.
