Shoshoni is a small ranching town in central Wyoming where Highway 20/26 crosses Highway 789. It's a natural rest stop between Casper (85 miles southeast) and Yellowstone country, sitting in the high desert at 4,900 feet elevation. The vintage neon sign at Yellowstone Drug Store has been greeting travelers on this historic route for decades.
