Shively is a small city just southwest of Louisville, easily reached via I-264 or US Route 60 (Dixie Highway). Most visitors arrive from Louisville in minutes, while longer trips typically use I-65 then connect west on I-264. The rolling Kentucky hills and humid subtropical climate create a typical north-central Kentucky setting. Louisville's airport is about 10 miles south. The city hosts an annual Corn Festival each September at Shively Park, drawing thousands for live music, rides, and fresh local corn.
