Sheridan is a small ranching town in Montana's Ruby Valley, sitting along Highway 287 about 15 miles south of Ennis. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 90, taking the Three Forks exit and following Highway 287 south for 45 miles through cattle country. The town maintains one of Montana's few remaining active one-room schoolhouses, built in 1916 and still educating local elementary students.
