Shelton sits in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, about an hour from both New York City and New Haven. Route 8 runs right through town, connecting north to Waterbury and south to Bridgeport, while Route 110 cuts east-west through downtown. Most visitors arrive via I-95 to Route 8 or the Merritt Parkway to Route 110. The restored Huntington Center downtown still hosts live performances in its original 1920s vaudeville theater.
