Shelby is a small farming town in western Iowa, about 15 miles west of Harlan via Highway 44. Most visitors come from Omaha (45 minutes via I-80) or Council Bluffs (30 minutes on county roads). The town sits in classic Iowa farm country with rolling hills and endless corn fields. Its towering grain elevator has been a prairie landmark for decades.
