Shattuck is a small farming town in Oklahoma's northwest panhandle, home to about 1,200 people surrounded by wheat fields. US Highway 283 runs right through town, connecting north to Liberal, Kansas (25 miles) and southeast to Woodward (45 miles). Most visitors arrive via Interstate routes then head north through the panhandle. The town's towering grain elevators serve as a landmark visible for miles across the flat prairie landscape.
