Shamrock is a small Texas Panhandle town on Interstate 40, about 100 miles east of Amarillo and 150 miles west of Oklahoma City. US Highway 83 intersects I-40 here, connecting north to Kansas and south to Childress. The town sits in typical Panhandle ranch country with wide plains and strong winds. Shamrock's claim to fame is its collection of vintage neon signs and Route 66 artifacts from when the famous highway ran through downtown.
