Sergeant Bluff is a small Iowa city along the Missouri River, just south of Sioux City via Interstate 29. US Highway 20 runs east-west through town, while State Highway 12 connects directly to Sioux City for daily commuters. Sioux Gateway Airport sits about 10 miles northeast. The city is named for the bluff where Sergeant Charles Floyd of Lewis and Clark's expedition was buried in 1804.
