Selah is a small city in Washington's Yakima Valley, about 10 miles north of Yakima via Interstate 82. It's a convenient stop between Seattle and the Tri-Cities, with State Route 823 running through the center of town. The surrounding hills and agricultural lands give it a rural feel despite easy highway access. The city's name means "rock" in Hebrew, inspired by the striking basalt cliffs that tower over the western edge of town.
