Section is a small town of about 1,000 people in northeastern Alabama's Jackson County, positioned along US Highway 35 about 15 miles north of Scottsboro. The town sits in the Appalachian foothills where State Route 75 intersects the main north-south corridor. Most visitors arrive via US 35, while I-59 provides longer-distance connections about 20 miles west. Section got its name from serving as a railroad section house on the old Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway line.
