SeaTac wraps around Seattle-Tacoma International Airport about 15 miles south of downtown Seattle via I-5. State Route 518 provides direct airport access from the interstate, while SR-99 runs parallel through the city's commercial strip. The community incorporated in 1990 and literally took its name from the airport's SEA-TAC code.
