Scranton is a small farming town in southwestern North Dakota's Bowman County, connected by Highway 85 north-south and State Highway 12 east-west. Most travelers use Highway 85 south to Bowman (15 miles) to access major routes, or continue to Interstate 94 near Dickinson (60 miles). The town's grain elevator dominates the prairie skyline as a landmark of the area's agricultural roots.
