Scranton is a tiny Arkansas River Valley community of about 220 people in Logan County. Highway 22 runs right through town, connecting to Dardanelle 20 miles east and continuing west toward Booneville. Most longer trips require connecting to Interstate 40 via Paris or Ozark, both about 25-30 miles away. The town's small post office has been serving residents since the late 1800s, a testament to this quiet farming community's staying power.
