Scottville is a small farming town in Mason County, about 15 miles inland from Lake Michigan. US Highway 10 runs right through town, connecting it west to Ludington and east toward Grand Rapids. State Route 37 provides the main north-south route. Most visitors pass through on US-10 heading to the lakeshore, while locals commute daily to Ludington for work. The old railroad depot downtown now serves as the county historical museum.
