Scotch Meadows is a small Scotland County community of 370 people in south-central North Carolina, near the South Carolina border. Take US 74 west from Charlotte (90 miles) or east from Rockingham to reach the area. The town sits in classic Sandhills country with rolling pine forests and farmland, named for Scottish settlers whose 1800s family cemeteries still scatter the countryside.
