Scooba is a small county seat in east-central Mississippi, right near the Alabama border. US Highway 45 runs north-south through town, connecting to Meridian 30 miles south, while Highway 16 heads east-west toward Philadelphia and into Alabama. Most traffic is local commuting or travelers crossing between states. The town of 700 is home to East Mississippi Community College, which draws students from across the region.
