Scofield is a tiny mountain community of seven people sitting at 7,600 feet along Scofield Reservoir in Carbon County. Take US-6 northwest from Price, then State Route 96 north to reach this high-elevation spot popular with anglers and campers. The 1900 Scofield Mine disaster memorial at the local cemetery marks one of America's deadliest mining tragedies.
