Schellsburg is a small Pennsylvania borough of about 340 people nestled in Bedford County's Appalachian foothills. Take US Route 30 west from Bedford, then north on Route 96 for 8 miles, or exit the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Bedford. The town sits along Route 96, which connects south to Bedford and north toward Johnstown. One remarkable feature is its active one-room schoolhouse, still educating local children after more than a century of continuous use.
