Saxis is a tiny fishing village of 218 people on Virginia's Eastern Shore peninsula, surrounded by Chesapeake Bay salt marshes. You'll reach it via back roads from US Route 13, typically taking Route 695 west from Temperanceville through 15 miles of farmland and wetlands. Plan your EV charging back on Route 13 since none exists in the village. The working watermen's harbor still hosts traditional crab boats at weathered wooden piers.
