Sawpit is Colorado's tiniest town with just six residents, sitting at 8,900 feet in the San Juan Mountains. Highway 145 runs right through it, about 8 miles south of Telluride on the scenic San Juan Skyway loop. The post office operates from a converted red railroad caboose.
