Savanna is a Mississippi River town in northwestern Illinois, about 45 miles north of the Quad Cities via US Highway 52. The scenic Route 84 follows the river through bluffs and small towns. From Chicago, take I-88 west to US 52 north for a 2.5-hour drive. The former Savanna Army Depot, a 13,000-acre site, is being transformed into Illinois' largest rural economic development project.
