Santa Clara is a tiny Guadalupe County community of about 600 people, located 25 miles northeast of San Antonio via I-35 and FM 78. The town sits near Randolph Air Force Base and serves as a quiet residential area for military families and San Antonio commuters. Despite modern growth around it, Santa Clara preserves several limestone buildings from its 1850s German settlement days along the historic stagecoach route.
