Sankertown is a small Pennsylvania borough in Cambria County, home to about 680 residents in the Appalachian foothills. Reach it via US Route 219 north-south or PA Route 56 east-west, with Johnstown 20 miles northwest and Ebensburg 15 miles north. The area serves mostly local commuters, with winding roads following the forested ridges and valleys. The town was named after German settlers who built a mill along the local creek in the 1800s.
