Sandy Hook is a small county seat in eastern Kentucky's hills, about 25 miles east of Morehead via US Route 60. The town sits along the Little Sandy River with mountain roads connecting to Grayson (Route 7) and Isonville (Route 32). It's a useful stop on the scenic drive toward West Liberty and the Mountain Parkway. The 1912 brick courthouse with its prominent clock tower dominates the downtown square.
