San Saba sits in Texas Hill Country along the San Saba River, about 100 miles northwest of Austin via US 190 through Lampasas. The town serves as county seat and calls itself the "Pecan Capital of the World" thanks to thousands of pecan trees lining the river valley and the massive Millican Pecan processing plant that ships nuts worldwide.
