Saltville is a small Appalachian town in southwestern Virginia, accessible via I-81 Exit 35 and Route 107. It's about 30 minutes from Abingdon and 45 minutes from Bristol, making it a convenient stop along the interstate corridor. The Museum of the Middle Appalachians houses a complete mastodon skeleton found in the town's prehistoric salt marshes.
