Salina sits where Interstate 70 meets US Highway 89 in central Utah's Sevier Valley, making it a natural crossroads for travelers. The town lies halfway between Denver and Las Vegas on I-70, with US 89 connecting north to Salt Lake City (160 miles) and south to Richfield (20 miles). At 5,200 feet elevation, Salina experiences high desert conditions with the Wasatch Plateau rising to the east. The town still operates one of Utah's few remaining overhead cable traffic lights on its main street.
