Safety Harbor is a waterfront city of 17,000 on Tampa Bay's eastern shore, about 25 miles northwest of Tampa via I-275 and Gulf to Bay Boulevard. From St. Pete, take US 19 north to SR 60 east. The city sits between two bays with extensive waterfront access and is about 20 miles from Tampa International Airport. It's famous for the historic Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, built around natural mineral springs the Tocobaga Indians considered sacred healing waters.
