Saegertown is a small Crawford County borough of about 800 people in northwestern Pennsylvania, positioned along French Creek about 35 miles south of Erie via US Route 19. The main route from Pittsburgh runs 90 miles north on I-79 to US 6 west, then US 19 north. Local traffic uses US 19 for commutes to Meadville, 8 miles southeast. The old Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad bridge still spans French Creek as a reminder of the area's industrial past.
