Sackets Harbor is a small lakefront village on Lake Ontario, about 12 miles from Watertown via Route 3 west from I-81 Exit 45. The hour-plus drive from Syracuse on I-81 brings visitors to this historic community known for its War of 1812 naval heritage. The village features a remarkably intact 1850s limestone Navy Yard with original shipyard foundations still visible today.
