Rutherford is a Bergen County borough eight miles west of Manhattan, connected by Route 3 straight to the Lincoln Tunnel. The Garden State Parkway and I-95 provide regional access, while Route 17 runs nearby for north-south travel. Most residents commute east to NYC or south to Newark Liberty Airport, 15 miles away. This is the birthtown of poet William Carlos Williams, who practiced medicine here and wrote many famous works in his Ridge Road home office.
