Rush Springs is a farming town of about 1,300 people in central Oklahoma, 70 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. Take I-44 west to Chickasha, then US 81 south for 20 miles through open prairie and wheat fields. The town sits along the main US 81 corridor connecting Duncan and Chickasha. Rush Springs calls itself the "Watermelon Capital of Oklahoma" and hosts a popular watermelon festival every August.
