Royalton is a small river town of 1,200 people in central Minnesota, 90 miles northwest of Minneapolis via Highway 10. The main route takes I-94 west to St. Cloud, then Highway 10 northwest through farming country along the old Soo Line railroad. The town sits on a Mississippi River bend where Highway 115 branches north toward Brainerd. Its most notable landmark is a preserved 1912 concrete arch bridge that once carried the original Highway 10 across the Mississippi.
