Rosita is a small South Texas town of about 3,000 people located 15 miles northeast of Eagle Pass near the Mexican border. Visitors typically arrive via Farm Road 1021 from Eagle Pass or US 277 from Del Rio (45 miles). The area experiences desert-like conditions with extremely hot summers. The town's name means "little rose" in Spanish, though the landscape is dominated by mesquite and thorny brush rather than flowers.
