Roselle is a Union County city about 20 miles from Manhattan, connected by Interstate 287 and Route 27. Newark Airport sits 8 miles southeast, while NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line provides rail service to New York. The city was the site of the world's first successful electric street lighting system, installed by Edison in 1883.
