Roseland is a small Louisiana town of about 1,070 people in Tangipahoa Parish, sitting an hour north of New Orleans via Interstate 55. The main route is I-55 to Highway 38, which runs through the center of town. Local trips use Highway 38 to reach nearby Amite and Independence, while US Highway 51 provides an alternate regional route. The town was named for the wild Cherokee roses that once covered the area each spring.
