Roscommon is a small county seat in Michigan's north woods, sitting right on Interstate 75 about 150 miles north of Detroit. The town serves as a hub for the Au Sable River region and nearby Houghton Lake. US-18 runs east-west through downtown, while local roads connect to surrounding lakes and forests. The municipal airport operates right in town, giving Roscommon the unusual distinction of having planes take off practically from Main Street.
