Romeo is a small farming town in Colorado's San Luis Valley, sitting along Highway 160 about 15 miles from Alamosa. Most visitors arrive via the scenic La Veta Pass route from Denver or travel east-west on 160 between the Four Corners and I-25. The valley sits at 7,600 feet between two mountain ranges, supporting potato and barley farms. Romeo serves as a gateway to Great Sand Dunes National Park, where 750-foot dunes create an otherworldly desert landscape against snowy peaks.
