Rolfe is a small farming town in northwest Iowa, connected to the outside world mainly through US Highway 169, which runs about 8 miles east. Most visitors drive in from larger cities like Fort Dodge or Algona via Highway 169, then take county roads west to reach the community. The town sits in classic Iowa corn and soybean country, with the Pocahontas Municipal Airport nearby for air travelers. Rolfe still follows the original grid street pattern laid out when the railroad came through in the late 1800s.
