Rockland is a small Wisconsin city of 745 people in La Crosse County, set among the rolling hills of the Driftless Area. Highway 27 runs north-south through town, connecting to Sparta 15 miles south and continuing toward Eau Claire. Most visitors reach Rockland via I-90 through Sparta, which also provides access to Sparta Fort McCoy Airport about 20 miles away. The town sits in the unique Driftless Area, which escaped the last ice age and retains its original steep valleys and ridgetop prairies.
