Rockford is a small Indiana town of 761 people in Jackson County's rolling hills. Take State Road 135 south from Columbus (25 miles) or north from Seymour off I-65 (about 15 miles). The town sits in farming country with forested valleys typical of southern Indiana. Its historic covered bridge over the East Fork of the White River remains one of the area's few 19th-century wooden bridges still open to traffic.
