Rock House is a tiny community of eight people in Gila County, about 120 miles northeast of Phoenix via US 60 through Globe. The area sits at 4,000 feet elevation in Arizona's high desert transition zone, bringing cooler temperatures and occasional winter snow. The settlement got its name from a natural rock formation that early settlers used as shelter, with stone remnants still visible today.
