Robbins is a small city in Cook County's far south suburbs, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Chicago near the Indiana border. Take I-57 south from the city, exiting at 147th Street or Sibley Boulevard for the most direct route. The community sits on flat prairie land typical of the Chicago area and was founded in 1917 as one of the first all-black incorporated towns in the northern United States.
