Roaring Spring is a small borough in Blair County, about 10 miles south of Altoona via US Route 220. The town of 2,300 sits in Pennsylvania's Appalachian foothills, accessible from Interstate 99 and connected by PA Route 164. The community gets its distinctive name from a natural spring that historically made a roaring sound as water flowed over limestone formations.
