Riverbank is a Central Valley city of 25,000 people located 15 miles east of Modesto along Highway 108. The main route from the Bay Area follows I-580 to I-5 north, then Highway 132 east to Highway 108. It serves as a gateway to the Sierra foothills and Yosemite's northern entrance. The 1918 Carnegie Library downtown is one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in the Central Valley.
