River Forest is a Chicago suburb 10 miles west of downtown, accessible via I-290 and US Route 20. The CTA Green Line terminates here at Harlem/Lake station. Major roads include Harlem Avenue running north-south and Lake Street east-west. O'Hare Airport is about 20 miles northwest, Midway about 15 miles southeast. The village is home to Concordia University Chicago with its striking Gothic Revival campus.
