Ripley is the county seat of Jackson County in west-central West Virginia's rolling hills. Take I-77 to Exit 138, then Route 21 north through Sandysville to reach town. Route 33 provides east-west access, while Route 21 connects north to Parkersburg and south to Charleston, 35 miles away. The red brick Jackson County Courthouse from 1976 dominates the downtown area.
