Ripley is a small Tennessee town 45 miles northeast of Memphis on US Highway 51, serving as the Lauderdale County seat. The main route from Memphis follows US 51 north, while visitors from Nashville typically take I-40 west to Jackson, then US 412 west to US 51. State Route 19 provides the primary east-west connection through downtown. Each July, the town hosts its famous Tomato Festival featuring a 75-foot-long tomato sandwich.
